What are the biggest factors you look at when underwriting a bridge loan?

Coastal Capital prides itself on being very flexible and accommodating to new and experienced real estate investors. All bridge loans must be made to an incorporated business entity. The biggest factor that we look at when evaluating bridge loans is your exit strategy. While our rates are very fair for these types of loans, most of our clients securing bridge loans are simply using us for short-term financing and to quickly secure a deal.

Is it okay to have a shorter term than the 12 to 18 months specified as a typical term for bridge loans?
​
Absolutely! There are absolutely no prepayment penalties so as soon as you are able to execute your exit strategy, whether it is a resale or refinance, there will be no additional fees that you will have to worry about.

Do I need great credit to get a bridge loan?
​
As with our other loan products, Coastal Capital does not have the strict credit requirements of banks. However, credit will play a factor in the loan you will qualify for with us. However, we place more emphasis on the real estate project you have, your previous experience and your desired exit strategy. To secure a bridge loan with us, you do need a credit score of at least 620. For those that don't meet our credit minimum, do not despair. We provide free credit restoration services for those that partner with us and earn solid returns on capital.
